Picked up a '95 on Craigslist with no keys. Pulled the ignition switch and powered everything up but, would not turn over. Alarm didn't go off so I am assuming that it's not the immobilizer and could be just a bad starter (haven't checked it yet). My question is this...if I hot wire the coil, fuel pump and push button the starter, is there anything in between to keep it from starting. I've had two D2's and a '96 D1 but never one with a distributor and never a Range rover (lots of things under the hood I don't recognize). Just want
$400.00 poorer now
to see if it runs and shifts before investing time into it. Any help is appreciated!
12 volts to the coil should do it for the ignition as long as the "switch " is on, same for the fuel pump, the ignition is NOT controled in any way by the ecu....is the battery good ?
if it gets the best of you, you are welcome to drop it off at my place and I will dispose of it properly for you...........

Ok, thanks. Didn't come with a battery, I was jumping it (when testing). You're #1 on the recipients list if it becomes to much for me to handle.
One more question. Can you tell me what this connection is to? It's sticking out from behind driver seat. I read that all '95s came with obd read outs (not sure) but, I don't seem to have one. Wires really seam to "beefy" for obd, what do you know?
