Anybody can identify these parts? (p38)
Hi everybody!
I recently opened up the driver’s door of my P38 to replace the window regulator and, as I was cleaning the inside of the door, I found some parts that I cannot figure out where they are supposed to go (my RR is a 2000 NAS).
1) Between the outmost side of the door and the door seal (i.e. inside the regulator compartment), I found a small metal plate around 5 x 1 x 0.5 cm (2 x 0.5 x 0.25 inches: length x width x thickness), golden in color, with a hole in the middle (attached). I identified this part as the ALR8078 DOOR HANDLE NUT PLATE (part 22 in the attached), which is supposed to go somewhere in the inside of the door handle, but I cannot figure out where. I also removed the passenger’s door panel in my attempt to identify where this plate goes, but no joy.
2) Between the panel and the seal (i.e. before reaching the regulator compartment), I found 2 U-clips (attached; by “found” I mean they dropped down as soon as I took the panel off), whose purpose remains unknown to me. Nothing like that exists in the passenger’s door.
I should mention that the door functions properly. The handle is not loose, the lock/unlock, etc. all work fine. The only difference I can identify between the driver’s and passenger’s doors is that that the sill rod (from button to latch) in the driver’s door is loose (allowing the sill button to wobble around) whereas in the passenger’s door it is sturdy. But I cannot see how this might be related to the unidentified parts.
Any help is appreciated!

The "Part" is a support plate for the L/F door handle only.
It goes in the door skin and the door handle screw/bolt goes through it into
the door handle.
The clips could be something that someone tried to use to fasten the door panel with when one of the plastic nutserts broke or stripped..
