Default Auto Headlights for '04 RR HSE

Not sure if all '04 models were as scantly optioned as mine, but I don't even have an "Auto" headlight setting on my selector switch. I've got a sensor on the dash, but apparently that was installed as common practice on all of them. I do have daytime running lights, which I could really care less about. Has anyone ever pulled off an auto headlight switch conversion on this model. Dealer tells me it's not practical.

you do not have the sensor. that is a sun-load sensor for the a/c. its was not an option until 05, and then standard, aside from westminsters. and no, do not try it.

Well, that being the case, is there any practical means for me togather & install the required compnents resulting in auto headlights in my'04 RR? Even my wife's '04 Jag has autoheadlights.

you will at least need a new windshield, for a 05my fitted with a light sensor, and a switch for a 05my too. im not sure if the wiring is there or if you need a new Light Check Module or not, either way on the LCM, it will need to be coded/recoded at your local dealership

This non auto headlight situation was driving me crazy. I have a 04 RR and just got the dealer to program the daytime running lights option. Front and rear lights are on as soon as the ignition is turned on and lights go out after the car is turned off. Problem solved.

Roverguy7 is right. We got jacked on our 04's. If i knew more about the 04's then I would've bought the 05's. Btw, do I have to go to the stealership to have them program DRL or is that something I can do myself? How much isit?I'm not sure if I want them though...
