Default Best Warranty for 8 yr. old Range Rover?

Hello everyone,
I am new to the site and wanted to know which warranty would you all suggest for an 8 yr old RR with 90k. Who can you trust out there?
Thanks for the help!

Really no one IMO. I used to have a Heritage Warranty on my old 98 Disco. But they went out of business, they were a great company, I paid about 2 grand for the warranty and they put about 6 grand into the car. I don't have a warranty on my Rover or the wifes Jag, if they break I just pay the bill, with how expensive some of these warranties are these days it feels more like you are pre paying for future repairs then buying a warranty.

I agree with gsd2004 on this one. 8 years old, you will pay an arm and a leg for any type of warranty, and these companies have a way of wiggling out of things once a vehicle gets that old.

I had an Easy Care on my 2002 X type, and I did get my money out of it for sure, as I knew the 2002 X was a new model and would probably have teething issues. But I also had one on a Honda Element and didn't use it once and flushed the $ down the drain.

Conveniently the tranny in my X blew about 2,000 miles after my warranty expired and I was on the hook for $4,000+.

But anyway, at this point if I were in your shoes I'd just pay as you go, and try to do as much yourself as possible.

Oh, and gsd, you have good taste in cars.

Just set aside whatever $ amount you can and underwrite your on coverage.
If you have a problem, down the road, then find a good shop or shop smart and do your own work.

Thank you all for your comments on warranties. Looks like pay as you go will be the plan and of course doing my own repairs will bring down the costs tremendously. I do have a shop 20 minutes away who always has Rovers parked waiting patiently their turn before getting back to the trails of New Jersey's wilderness.

I had posted a thread on my "Buying a 02 RR" and the test drive showed many findings and the most expensive being the head gasket was moist all around the gasket.

For more details feel free to check out what exactly I found. The deal was not settled. My offer was too low for the seller.

Many thanks as always for everyones help. Can't wait to find/purchase that 2002 RR one day.
