best year for classic
It depends on what you are looking for in a vehicle, like what purpose as far as passengers, off-road use, frequency of use, etc. I have a 1991 standard wheelbase Range Rover. This has coil spring suspension as opposed to the 1993-1995 Classic with first generation air suspension and a longer wheelbase that came out a few years later. This later model had a 4.2 litre where-as mine has a 3.9 litre. I prefer the SWB with the 3.9, but I rarely carry rear passengers who could use the extra leg room. I prefer the basic coil spring suspension with sway bars, as the later model had problems with the air suspension when the mileage accumulated, and this can be very expensive to repair. The Classic ended in 1995. This last model year is very sought after if it was properly maintained. Expect to pay between $3500-5000 for a Classic that is worth buying. Stay away from the ones priced less than that with an unknown service history. That can bite you big time.
