Default Both blower motors stopped working?!?!

Hi, i have a 98 Rangie 2.5 diesel, a while back suddenly both blower motors stopped working completely. I have spent the last two weeks trawling through 100's of posts about blower motor problems but still cannot get them to work.i could really do with some help as i live in Portugal and its starting to get pretty hot over here now, and finding anyone who knows about Rangies is a nightmare (including the LR Dealers, but don't get me started on that one!!)

I have the handbook symbol on the panel, but that has been on since i bought the car 2 years ago. Over the last couple of weeks i have replaced the pollen filters, replaced relays RL6 and RL7, inspected the fusebox and relays and they show no sign of any overheating, all fuses (under bonnet and under seat) are all fine, both motors turn freely enough (accessing them through the pollen filter gaps) so they are not jammed, i can hear the blend motors move when i switch to recirculate so i think they are ok, the air con and heat work fine, as when on the motorway you can feel the airflow through the vents getting hot and cold and hear the compressor cut in when standing still, the control panel seems fine, and when i rotate the fan speed switch, the fan speed bars along the top move so i don't think its a problem with the switch- i just can't get the blower motors to work!!!

Does anyone out there have any other suggestions 'cos i'm completely confused?!?!?!?!?

Sorry for the long post but more detail is good right???

Thanks.

Default RE: Both blower motors stopped working?!?!

As a rule the handbook symbol is representative of any of a number of faults in the climate control system, as you're probably aware: low or no freon, failed inside or outside temp sensors, failed heater matrix temp sensor, or failed blend motors.&nbsp\\; It could be that one of those problems was in a state of progression when you purchased the vehicle and since then another has given it up leading to your current failure.&nbsp\\; Just a thought from a rank amateur.
