Brakes, and Noticing Other Things
Are RR rover brakes knows for squeaking? I don't mean a a lot of noise and only when driving very slow, and like slowing down to stop. My RR needed front brakes when I bought it and the dealer replaced mine at no cost. I received a vehicle inspection sheet from Land Rover dealer and they said my rear brakes were at "yellow", meaning may need future attention and brake lining was at 5mm. The service guy said I had a least another six months or 7500 miles (depending on my type of driving) before I need to replace the rear pads. But the minor squeaking worries me, and how will I really know its time to replace. I don't want to wait until the sensor it triggered because I was told if this happens its more expensive.
Also, when I start the RR, I am noticing a couple of messages coming up on the display but only for a a second or two and they are:
HDC Fault System Unavailable
Transmission Fault System (then it turns off too quickly before I can read the rest)
Parking Brake Fault System (again it turns off too quickly).
The service tech told me as long as these messages are not staying on for more than a minute, it is okay. He said unless the message remains on for an extended period of time its difficult to get an accurate computer reading.
Also, these messages appear at different time, never at the same time during the same start, and not at every start.
Any advice?
