Default A/C controls question

Ok took my 2000 HSE to the stealership.... I have no display on my a/c controls, they said I have 2 burned out bulbs? Any input, sounds fishy to me.....I was told by another "expert" that I needed a new control unit (ouch)....

Also when I turn on the defrost, and turn up the heat, is still get cold a/c on the drivers side, and way hot on the passenger side..... Mixing valve or ???

I'd be happy if it was just the bulbs, its the cheaper repair. I would think in the dark, if you shined a flashlight at the display you could see some outlines of the turned on LCD pixels. I believe its fairly easy and straight forward to pull the climate control head if you want to change the bulbs yourself.

Your driver side blender motors probably needs repair or replacement and/or recalibrating (?). There is plenty in this forum and else where on this subject.

If you can see the display faintly it needs the bulbs for the back lighting. if you cant then its the head unit or LEDs that you can fabricate. Seen it before. you can only get the normal bulbs for the backlighting. The display itself is inside.
