krazzz you are my hero, great idea. I generally avoid ebay, for really no good reason other than my lack of self control.

 

Lets just say I have have a RR and a Volvo XC70, without ebay I would never be able to keep both of them on the road. I get at least half my parts there.

 

Wow a 67-to 75k truck and the cheap parts on the Cruise go out. Mine doesn't work either so I just use the pedal. I love cruise control, great for long drives to a fro Chicago.

 

and while we're on the subject, how many gas gauges don't work (always show empty) I've see lots of pics on line with the low fuel light lit. Mine hasn't work since before I owned it. I use the trip meter to gauge fuel. When I took it to Rover for some service the tech went to put some gas in it and saw the the trip meter set at 70 miles and new it was not working.

 

Sorry, we can't comment on our fuel gauges.....don't want to anger the Lucas gods....

 

Well, the cruise is now fixed. Only took two years. As it turned out, the relay was clicking, I just couldn't hear it. Turned out to be a cracked vac line. The crack was on the back side of one of the lines in the engine compartment. One thing I noticed during the repair was that if the diaphram under the hood will move easily by hand, then you have a vac leak. It always seems to be the simple stuff with these vehicles. On the good side though, I am accumulating quite the collection of used electrical parts. Now if I can just get that pesky SRS light to turn off..............

 

Glad to hear you found the fix Wilson. I wish that was my problem, but I replaced all of the vac lines already and my diaphram is functional.

I have an inverter relay coming in the mail, hopefully that will eliminate that variable. Still have to procure another rotary coupler, maybe an ECU and a new pedal switch.
