Hate to say it but you need to replace the bags. At least replace the front ones and probably the back ones now or in the near future. Even though the hissing stops it only stops because the bag is folding over the leak. Air is most likely still leaking. That would explain the bumpstops and time it takes for the vehicle to rise.
I would immobilise the EAS until you've replaced the bags or you may ending up wearing down the compressor you just replaced.
Well after the bags you should have a near new EAS system, although that probably doesn't make you happy right now.
