Default Flood damage

I have a 2007 Range Rover Supercharged and recently drove thru a very flooded area. As soon as I got out of the water my vehicle started making a horrible sound from the passenger rear. It did not make it while in park but as soon as I took off it did. The dealership said it was the rear differential and my insurance said it was impossible for the water to have caused it because water can not get in a differential at all from driving thru water. Is this completely accurate because that would just be an unbelievable coincidence for it to go out immeditely after driving thru the flood.

have them take a picture of the water in the gear lube when they drain it, and yes your rear diff has a vent; it could in theory go under water. you should see exactly were the vent ends
