Default Gearbox Fault

HeyGentlemen, this morning ifailed tostart my '98 Range andthedash message read "Interior lights on". This puzzled me, because i haven't started the truck in four days(eventho its been pretty cold up here) and if the battery was dead none of the lights, radio, dash msg board would've light up. I got a boost then 90min later, trying to start her again, same thing, but this time it read "Gearbox Fault". Whatdoes this mean?... Do i need toget a diagnostic done, or can i remedy this problem on my own?

x2 on the battery! The battery coulda been weak or on its way out, and the cold + sitting finally did it in. A failing battery can cause alllllll sorts of funky little issues! Get that replaced with the quickness!

Ey Wolfpack, THANKS A GREAT DEAL, you saved me about $100 on a diagnostic(your thank-you check is in the mail), my problem WAS my battery. Got it tested then replaced at Auto Zone, they told me it was weak and not holding a charge(wasnt strong enough to turn-over when starting), Thanks again buddy! Crazy thing is now my interior lights(that were'nt coming on for some time now) light-up upon opening the doors.... go-figure!

Haha glad to hear it! There's something about these Rovers, they just don't like bad batteries
