Still sounds kinda like the computer, even though it was replaced. Any check engine lights on? What other behavior is it doing? It could also be a series of problems, the likely problem for the windows is the window control pack has gone bad (the buttons are one big panel I believe). What are your power locks doing exactly? Not starting could be a number of things, any messages in the display such as "gearbox fault" ? etc.

If the LR "tech" said it is haunted, get a new tech. What he meant to say is that he doesn't understand the electronics. I would recomend that you get the Rave manual and just go after the problems one at a time. That is what I had to do when I bought mine. It took me many hours of reading about how the different systems on the RR work followed by a lot of trial and error and asking questions on this site. That being said, you will find that many of the issues with the p38 are really simple. From what you describe, I would start with your battery connections. Good luck.

Default Thanks

thanks for the suggestions, I have to start somewhere? The strange thing is it has never put up a service message. The battery was replaced but I will clean the terminals myself as a starting point. LR its not as thoough the power options dont work they just all do so intermittently. Could be good for weeks or maybe 2 days.Sometimes they all quit at once , it might start now and 5mins from now not. It does nothing when that happens not lights on dash no clic no turn over nothing. One time the window put themselves down in the night. I am leaning toward the security system and immobolizer system side but not sure were to start. Derek

I doubt its your security doing this. Sounds like a bad alternator actually. These vehicles do strange things when they don't get enough power. Your BECM could be weak, but since you replaced it already, it can be ruled out. Mine will refuse to start occasionally, usually about once a month. I can keep trying, but it will only start if i take the key all the way out and put it back in to restart. Then it fires up without a problem. I would ensure your alternator is supplying the correct amount of electricity and that the battery is in good condition along with the connectors (cut them open part of the way, I found my battery ground to be riddled with corrosion even though everything looked fine). I would also check the grounds else where as well.

I agree with LRscott, if the battery is good and the ecu was replaced then I would go to the alternator as well. I had the bearing go out on mine and that caused all sorts of issues. Check all the connections around it too, that may be why it is intermittent.
