Default high engine voice

hi there,
after tuneup my 2008 range rover sports, i feel my engine sound is higher than usual, my mechanic refused to use the bosch plugs, and he used (ngk), is this might be the reason ?? i smell gas in the muffler as if it is not fully burned. can someone help please.

I definitely prefer NGK. Can you describe the high pitch? Whining? Wooing noise? Whistling ?

NGK plugs are the factory plugs on the jag engines that are in the lr3/rrs.
