Default Hole in 05 rover transmission?

So I recently picked up an 05 range rover from an auction and have never owned one before. It is missing a few things and I'm starting with the biggest issue. I'm not sure what is missing from this 2 inch by 2 inch hole in the bottom of the transmission towards the front close to the engine? A rubber plug or pan?

I have pics I can text because I don't know how to upload them from my iPhone.

just buy a new rubber plug,
they get oil on them,
then the plug swells and gets soft ,
then falls out
