How do you convert the ashtray to a cupholder....I can remove the top from the spring, but can't figure out how to remove the spring. Does the entire black center come out? If it does I cant seem to get it to budge. Any thoughts or help.

Never mind......I got it. It must have had several drinks spilled over the years which acted like glue, but it finally came out.
