leak 98RR4.0
this is how im coming out i have a leak under my car t-case is leaking rear diff lis leaking and i think rear mainseal is leaking too(the leak is not that bad say i park for eight hour fourleaksizeis about bottle cap same for the rear diff too)were do i start is it easy to fix can i do my self is there a tool i need to do would i have to pull out the tranny
i think you need to inspect closely to were the leaks are (output shaft seals on t-box)
an rear pinon seal is quicker to fix than a diff housing reseal.
and i would start with an oil pan before think about changing a rear main seal.
oil dye and a blacklight helps too if its oil nasty under there.
check closely and get back to the forum

Start by checking the fluid levels on all areas and then refill.
Most of what you have mentioned will take a mechanic to fix, unless you are real mechanical.
I would suggest you de-grease the under side of your truck and then power scrub it so you can see exactly where the leak is and go from there.

Bullseye, Mike
Wease, as Mike said (or close to it), I'd go to the quarter (am I dating myself?) car wash & THOROUGHLYclean the underside drivetrain.
Oils spread like crazy, & if you clean & monitor it, it could be as simple as snugging down bolts.
It could be more, but you'll know.

Well..I used my pressure washer, and standard degreaser solution to clean off the underside and the exposed frame rails of the blazer. I don't know if that's the best thing for the seals though, so I probably wouldn't use it on my Range.
under the car is not that bad so i took a rag and just clean my hand next i wait and see were the leak is coming from. By looking at it the leak is right by the oil pan(just reseal the oil pan three mth ago i look around the oil no leak . As for rear diff i can see the leak when i whip it
Gunk and $3.00 for $4.00 at a do it your self car wash will do the job.
Do this before you take it into a shop, not the dealer. Also after cleaning, crawl under the truck once a day and look to see where fresh oil is dripping from and what color it is.
