Hi all,

I have bought a new range rover, well actually an ex demo with 3k miles 54 plate last september. When I lower the rear windows the sound it makes through the car is so unbearable, i have to put up the windows. It sounds like helecopter blades and it really wacks the ear drum. When I hit 40 mph it starts as I slow below this spead it goes away. i have tried it with both rear windows, songle at a time and both together and it is the saem. Has anyone ever heard of this. i told range rover in chester, England and they said it is normal and this is why they put air conditioning in so people dont put the windows down, eerrr did i just see a pig fly past me. Never heard something so ridiculos and think im being fobbed off. Anyone with similar problems I would be happy to hear.

generally when you roll the back windows (depending on how windy it is) it's always loud! Since I live in Florida, I hardly ever put the windows down (unless if I fart in the car! lol)

my freelander does that. we used to have a 2002 F-150 Supercrew that would do it too. I wonder if our explorer does that, i'll have to give it a try. same with the LR3.

i know exactly the sound u r talking about it almost knocks ur eardrums into ur head, yes it is annoying but i am sorry to tell u that this is absolutely normal. I know from where i speak because i am a technician at a land rover dealer and there was a tech bulliten sent out about this and to explain to customers to refrain from driving witht he rear windows open....sorry to be the bearer or bad news
