Default Problem found and fixed: Wind Noise around right rear door

My 2001 Disco has a wind leak around the right rear door. Interesting, My 2002 Disco I had a few years back had the same noise,....so, guess this must be a common problem.

Whats the cause and the fix for it?

EDIT: Yes, turned out that the rear vertical weather strip on the right rear door was completely missing. I pulled off the door panel and the inner moisture barrier, and sure enough,.....the felt strip was lying in the bottom of the door. Took some doing to get it back it......wouldn't go from the top,.....but was able to eventually get it in from the bottom and then after a thorough cleaning,...applied some Goop automotive adhesive before pushing the final 6" in to the channel.

Driver's side also had a bit of wind noise,....and the felt strip had just fallen a few inches on that side.

more than likely the felt-deal that the window seats into slid down, look at the frame around your other windows and check the one in question for consistency. If it appears that the thing is missing all-together, reach down into the door and pull it out. You'll need some adhesive...clean the area really well, apply the adhesive and stick the felt back up into place.

The other possibility is that the rubber seal around the bottom of the door is missing/broken or not on the clips right...I think the window thing is more common though.

hope that helps.

Thanks Ken, Your not by any chance married to Karen Constance (maiden name) are you?

(my cousins Karen and David Constance both live on the Cape; Karen's husband's name is Ken (may go by Kenny)

Nope...I've got a different K.C. (maiden name) that I'm married to. =) Weird coincidence though.

Most likely the door adjustment. On rainy days, I could hear the road noise much more than usual, and adjusting the door did the trick.

There is the door striker adjustment and then the door frame adjustment. basically losening the bolts and moving the frame or the striker accordingly.
