Default muffler

I have a 1998 RR 4.0 and planning to get ause muffler set from the cat back. My question is can i install a 2002 RR4.6 muffler OEMset from the cat back? I found a used set from the junkyard and they selling it for 150.00. My 98RR has on set muffler tail pipe and the 02RR has a dual muffler tail pipe. would it fit on or would do some work on it? I hope it is a bolt on my life easy for me since money is a factor. If not then i found a direct fit one pipe oem from cat backlike on Atlantic British for 319.00

The dual set-up on the later p38's will have different hangers where the exhaustattaches to the chasis. Unless you have access to a machine shop, you'll have a real tough time trying to retrofit that new style exhaust on your truck.

Even with your old exhaust, you'll probably have to cut it off with a grinder to get it free from the cat system.
