can you still get the updates for the 2001 system? Where?

Sorry, no upgrades for the MK2 /Mk3 navigation system. You can buy a DVD based MK4 on Ebay out of a 2003-2004 model which will plug straight into your P38. This allows you access to the newest map DVDs, runs waaaaay faster and has much better graphics.

Sorry, I didn't intend to mislead with my earlier answer. The last time I checked I believe the discs were still years behind - only up to 2002. This was according to my dealer, I didn't even think to look at the manufacturers website.
However, if you upgrade the unit your $199.99 buys you a 2010 DVD instead of an out of date 2007 set of CDs...

Understand that is why there is a Garmin Nuvi stuck over the screen now. I will get the upgrade to keep the Rover up to date but will use the Nuvi.
