anyone ever find water in the spare tire well? is it a common problem with a common fix?

 

Yes, yes and yes. I realized that when I found about 3 inches of water in my P38 spare tire well. The water typically comes in through the seals at the hatch, but can come from the sunroof drains as well. Pull up the carpet and sit in the back while someone soaks the outside with a hose to find the leak. Here's a link to a pretty thorough discussion about it: Water in the spare tire compartment
