Default P38 Electric cooling fans

Hello,
I have a 1996 Range Rover and was wondering if anyone's electric cooling fans for the condenser ever turn on. Mine are both new, as are the two pressure switches. I know they work because if I jump accross the fan pressure switch, they turn on. I can leave the vehicle idling when it is 85 and sunny for 30 minutes with the AC on, and the fans never turn on. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Wilson

Default P38 Electric cooling fans

Anybody went to electric cooling fans on their 97-03 F150s with the 5.4 engine? If so, whats the best setup for those trucks- aftermarket fans or a fan assembly from a factory Ford vehicle and does anybody offer a fan wiring harness for the Ford trucks like Nelson and EDO does for the GM trucks?

If the main viscous drive fan is working correctly and the ambient temperature isn't too hot, the condenser fans don't need to kick in as the air flow through the radiator may be sufficient.

The condenser fans also may not engage if the gas level is low...

I have seen mine come on once, many owners refer to them as the "ghost fans" you can test their operation by opening up the fuse box in the engine compartment and using a paper clip (use a glove for safety) to close relay 13 & 14 for the LH and RH fan or relay 18 to activate both fans at low speed (the low speed is an emergency signal sent to the fans by the ECU when the engine is overheating). I am replacing the temp sensor for the fans to ensure proper operation. Do not leave the paper clip in there for more than 30 seconds, as the paper clip gets very hot, and you run the risk of melting it which will cause some major problems.
