Possible 01 RR purchase
I currently own a 94 Disco 1 with 147k, the last 6 weeks its been giving me issues. Replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, new magnecor wires and plugs, isn't starting. I have found a 2001 Range Rover with 138k, super clean, no leaks or rust and it has the coil conversion. Anything I should keep in mind when looking at her and making the call to buy or pass? Thanks in advance.

as the owner of both a '98 disco and a '97 p38 i'll chime in here. firstly, two very different personalities, different driving experiences. also two different maintenance pictures. all of the extra systems that the p38 has means double or triple the maintenance expense over my dealer-purchased disco. the electronics are a headache. the BECM is a headache. the sound system and it's integrated amps is a PITA. at 138k miles you are reaching the point where maintenance skyrockets. up to about 140k my p38 was trouble free (relatively) then everything started failing. door locks, coils, relays, stereo head unit, air springs, air pump, seat heaters, window regulators, plastics in the sunroof mechanism, various sensors.
if some of these limited-life components have been recently done, then great. if not, prepared to do them yourself.
to be fair the disco also has the same coils, seat heaters etc. but the p38 has more electrical features. i have had triple the trouble with the p38.
but, once out on a highway, a p38 eats up the miles: far quieter at highway speeds than a disco, mostly due to wind noise. in the city i prefer a disco.
how much are they asking for the 2001 rr?
