Question Purchase advice: 06 Supercharged vs. Base HSE

Dear Fellow Forum Members,

We have just relocated back home after spending time in England and are in a market for a Range Rover. We have owned a 01 Discovery, 06 LR3 HSE in the past and have a soft top Defender on its way fro England so are familiar with the brand. I am trying to read up as much as possible on the forums by doing reached, but would sincerely appreciate some input to my questions below:

1) Other than the supercharged engine, what are the other differences between the 2006 supercharged and the base HSE version?
2) How does the supercharged version fair in reliability compared to the base HSE model? The ones I am looking at are close to 90K miles.

If the supercharged version has a solid engine, and is equal in reliability to the base HSE I would be leaning more towards it, so appreciate any input. Finally, what are the most common specific things I should have checked in the pre purchase inspection for the supercharged or base version?

Many thanks for your guidance and input in advance.

I know the Supercharged has bigger brakes. IIRC the pads and rotors cost quite a bit more over the HSE's, so I'd total that into cost of ownership as well.

Many thanks. I did end up buying it and it will need new rotors and pads. Buying the parts online and will have an independent shop put them in.
