"Quick" Alternator Question "97 HSE 4.6
I have 1997 LR Range Rover HSE 4.6 ...with the 100 amp Magneti Marelli alternator. Can Anyone tell me if this alternator has a seperate voltage regulator that i can replace Without having to replace enire alternator unit. I am also considering replacing entire alternator with the 120 amp Marelli unit BUT i still have same question concerning the voltage regulator. Anyone know for sure?? Tips,Advise.etc. .....is Truly appreciated!!!!! THANKS in advance......
Most modern cars have the regulator built in, so you will need to replace the whole thing. Sorry for the bad news. You can always go to a electric motor shop and see if they will rebuild it with the amps you want, I have always wanted to do that but did not want to wait.
