Default Range Rover 2010 dashboard

Im curious about how it feels to have a dashboard based on a lcd-display? Is the feeling anything different than a "old" type of dashboard?

Anyone that has a new range rover that can give their opinion?

I love my 02 RR 4.6 HSE dash. I think the new dash is getting away from the old rugged type of display and gauges. Just my opinion. I thought I would give my opinion since I see many just read and don't reply.
Enjoy your rover! and welcome to the website/forum!

I don't have an lcd display in my cars. However, the aircraft I fly have LCDs and Analog gauges. Aside from it being "fancy" there isn't much of a difference for me. They all do the same thing, the LCD is just a bit more complicated and takes some getting used to. Once you master the functions and can put up with some of the short comings, it makes a very effective tool to have.

I sat in a 2010 and while the dash cluster was nothing short of impressive, I still love the analog gauges! I also fly a combo of analog and LCD and the LCD has it's purpose (GPS, Terrain, WX, Approach plates,,,)

Not as important when driving but when your in the clouds (called IFR) and the screen goes dark, this is a really bad thing!!!! Backups and redunducy!!!!

One of the reasons garmin and avidyne all have backup analog instruments . They don't have backups in RRs though lol. Don't worry the screen will NEVER fail in a RR... they don't need backups. Just like the Titanic didn't need life boats. It will be interesting to see how well the new RR display will hold up.

I fly for fun right now in a club that has about 10 planes. I usually fly 172s or archers. I'm thinking about getting my commercial license soon, we'll see though. Gotta get through college first . What are you flying a big caravan for? Hauling supplies into the Alaskan tundra? lol.
