Default Rattle in rear of '06 Range Rover Sport...PLEASE help!

Hey Everyone,

Any help is greatly appreciated. I have had my 2006 RR Sport about 2 weeks now, and I LOVE it. Everything works so well, and the car is so quiet and solid, EXCEPT...on roads that are not perfectly smooth, there is a constant rattle (or what sounds like one of the rear hatches/lift gates is not secured). I have checked multiple times, and the rear lift gate(s) are secured, the jack (flat tyre) equipement is snug in place. It's driving me absolutely mad!

I don't want to have to go to Service, for something so minor...expecially when the car is running so Perfect!! Does anyone have a fix, know what is is, what to do??

Please help. Thank You so Much!!!

-Adam

At what a new Range Rover cost you should take it back to the dealer to be repaired. That is what the warranty is for. You paid for it, so you should use it and not feel bad about it.

just my 2 cents

I took it to my local Land Rover/Jaguar dealer (Hornburg) this afternoon. They fixed it for me, while I waited. First Class Service and Attention. Thanks for the reply!

Did they tell you what is was? I just picked up a Supercharged Sport yesterday. Absolutely in love with it, except I think I'm hearing the same rattle. I know that had problems with someof the stampings and tolerances with early Sports but thought that they were beyond that with late production models.

Well hope both of you guys enjoy your new Rovers, by the way, Horngerg and the dealer in Thousand Oaks are both first Class shops and will take great care of your truck.
Welcome to the group.

Mike,

I have a RR supercharged 2006 with this annoying rattle in the rear sounds like metal when going over rough pavement or bumps sounds like above. Took it into dealer which told me door was open and they closed it. This clearly was not what I was referring to. Any Ideas thanks

hope your still intrested in this thread but the glass in the rear hatch for early sports is missing a clear coating on the hinge of the glass so when the latch grabs the hinge there is still slack on the glass that causes the noise your hearing their fix can go diffrent ways an updated glass (probably not) or the tsb fix wich works but seems stupid all it is some sort of tap/insullation to make the hinge seem thicker, my fix is dipping the hinge with plastic dip and letting it sit over night i picked some up at a pep boys and works liek magic i did it before the tsb came out and thats the onlything i do and works perfect.
