rear eas lines
my rear airbags wont hold the air, its like the the air lines arent going in all the way. I replaced the airshocks with new ones and trimmed the airlines and used a pencil sharpener to trim them. Could it be that i need to heat the lines and straighten them out, theres not much of a curve on them and there not brittle. the bags starts to fill then you hear the air leaking out, any ideas thanks
You used a pnecil sharpener?! The standard twisting kind? Sorry, i've just always used a razor edge blade. You could use heat to give the line a bit more of the curve (be careful if you try- running new lines is a bit of a pain) but you might also try just setting the line a bit more. Use some lithium grease where the line goes into the collet/o-rings... I had the same problems you described and lithium grease really helped the line set.

thanks idevine, did the job last weekend. I had a heck of a time setting those lines, the front ones were a snap but the rear ones are trickier. Two things i want to mention are that when replacing the ring on the piston of the compressor, i ruined the first one because i didnt notice the groove on the piston for the ring was 015" on one side and 030" on the other, why this was i dont know so i filed the smaller size to 030" and the new ring worked. the other was that squirting water around the the top of the old rear airshocks an hour before you remove them helps loosen the dirt which helps, hope this helps anyone thinking of replacing air shocks. Oh and I'm really glad i didnt convert I love that ride.
