Default Rear Vision Mirror

I am trying to install the rear vision mirror for my 2001 Range Rover - No matter how hard I try it just not go in. Any suggestions, or is it just patience.

Heck yea they are a pain. I'd be interested to hear some tips on the install as well. I ended up just paying my LR shop $35 and getting them to do it[&o]
