Snugg,

Can you post a pic? I've been living with the beeping for a while now, but yesterday it went nuts on me. Still no indications of shifting issues, just constant beeping and the notification on the dash which leads me to believe it's a connection issue. Thanks in advance.

If it is shifting all the time just fine then I am willing to bet it is not the motor. I would check the sensor. If I remember it is just at the back but sort of at the top of the transfer case.
Try chapter 41. my copy of the rave has a picture on 41-6 and 41-7 in the service proceedures portion of the manual. if you still can't find it let me know and i will post a pic.

transfer case neutral can be a number of things. It does have a module and it works best if you diagnose the codes first instead of throwing stuff at it.

Thanks snugg. Going outside to check it out. I get the error nearly every time I drive it now. No issues with it mechanically that I can identify. Just an ever annoying beeping.

Pulled the plug and found some corrosion on it. Wiped it with my hand and plugged it back it securely. Drove for 10 miles and it only gave me the error when I floored the gas. That's a definite improvement!! Just got back and cleaned both the male and female plugs with a toothbrush and rubbing alcohol. Crossing my fingers that I never hear that beep again. I also noticed that this thread comes up on google's first search page when you search for Range Rover transferbox neutral. Hopefully we can save others $$$! Thanks for all of your help!

After replacing the transfer box motor, the transferbox neutral message has stopped. The new problem is that the truck has issues after it downshifts on its own. After downshifting, I hit the gas and it revves through the gears until it eventually goes into the trans. failsafe program and stays in 5th gear. If I shift through the gears manually, it shifts without problem. However, even in manual mode, if it downshifts on its own, it has a problem finding the gear when I accellerate again. It always finds the gear if I tell it to downshift. Any thoughts?

Wild guess - Transfer case ECU could have a corroded connector...or could be shot. RAVE has test procedure - have access to code reader?

Smile L322, transfer box neutral - Fuse 37 solution.

I was getting the message TRANSFER BOX NEUTRAL. Online research seem to indicate that I needed a Fuse 37 recalibration.
Note:
Weird noise every time I changed gear.
Car would not move

Solution:
Check fuse 37 slot. If fuse was inserted previously, remove fuse from slot 37. Set automatic gearbox in neutral position, switch ignition to on. shift gear and test to see if the issue is resolved.

if no fuse in the slot, fit spare into position 37 in main fuse. Change gear to neutral and switch ignition on. Switch ignition off. Remove fuse from position 37. Switch ignition on. Drive rover to perform at least 3 high to low to high shifts cycles at permissible speeds.

re-calibration method.
