Transmission Chain
I have a P38 1997 4.6 HSE - 4 speed Auto.
After 110K the Transmission chain 'stretched' so that loud clonking noise could be heard when accelerating from a stationary position or on a high gradient - it seems these chains are good for 70K.
I have used the new chain for 2 months doing just 2.5K miles and its gone again!!
Is it possible that its a faulty chain or is this a symptom of something more?

The engine turns the transmission the transmission turns the transfer case the transfer case turns the drive shafts the drive shafts turn the axle shafts the axle shafts turn the wheels.
Could be the gears (that the chain rides on) are worn to much and cant keep the chain tight.
Did you put the right fluid back in it after replacing the chain?
Some noise in the driveline is normal.
