Having transmission trouble on my 2006 RR SC as well. Have been told by the dealer it is a $5,000 job. They say Range Rover says never to reboot the programming as it will make it worse? Have no idea what they are talking about.

Dear god, just repgm the ecu and the Tcu together it will fix most of the problems.

unless the transmission cooler went on the SC then it would kill the transmission.

What exactly is it doing?

It shifts like a kick when you slow down at a stop. The reprogramming sounds like a no brainer to me but the dealer says it's a one time shot and land rover doesn't recommend as it will cause the transmission to fail. Maybe a different dealer would have a different answer.

really a dealer said this? 99% of driveability issues are software updates either for the engine control module or transmission control module. there are several bulletins regarding issues with shifting. just have them check if there is an updated patch file. easy as that takes couple minutes to do

Ok it's scheduled to go in to the shop for the 90,000 mile inspection. I'll spend time with the actual mechanic to see what programming is available and what patches are available. I'll also check changing transmission fluid and filter, along with the cooling to see if there are any issues. I'll post the results . Happy thanksgiving
