Default trip off "check engine" light?

98 Range HSE, Just had emission hoses replaced to rid of the check engine light. Brought it home ran a few errands and the light came back on. I think I need a new center muffler, but not sure. Is there anyway to manually trip the light off? It bugs the heck out of me.

If you find out let me know. I just ignore it. Even the dealer doesn't know why it keeps coming on. Their normal answer, "it's a sensor problem" with a $1000 tag.

the light actually just went off by itself 2 days ago and is still off. My girlfriend took it up north for the weekend and she said the light went off while she was up there. The dealer told me too that it was probably the oxygen sensor. I've read that the check engine light only has to do with the emission and exhaust system as well as the O2 sensors. Its real nice not seeing those little orange letters anymore.
