Default Is this true about 2001-2002 Range Rovers?

I've been wanting to purchase a 2001-2002 Range Rover. I know they need to be cared for and maintained a lot, but is it true that they require $1000-$3000 a year in repairs? Thanks.

Depends on how you maintain them... If you have the dealership do it, yes you will pay 3k a year easily. Having a local shop do it, you'd probably average 500 to 1k a year roughly... Once again it all kinda depends. This year I probably spent $750 to 1k on mine, but it was neglected by previous owners for many years. If you are trying to find an economical car, lol don't get a rover. They are not horrible when it comes to repairs, but do require more than your average vehicle.

Thank you, so in order to for these to last free of expensive issues they have to be maintained by the previous owner. I guess that's why I found some so cheap because they've been neglected.

Well also realize they don't hold their value at all! I picked up my 2002 for very cheap and both previous owner took excellent care of it.

Default 2002 Range Rovers

Hi,
I'm going to see one this week. 02 RR with approx 90k for asking price of 14,700. All the records. How much if no major problems are found no leaks etc. would you offer?
Thanks in advance.

14700 is kind of high.... I would offer 10k for it. There is one here locally for 13k that is IMMACULATE and has 50k miles miles on it. I'm very tempted to get it.

Yeah I think I would just search for another one all together because I'd offer a lot less and I doubt they will go that low. I was looking at an 02 with 91k miles for $8500. It's best to buy them cheap so you save the extra money for repairs. I want one, but I'm just scared. For some reason I just like the looks and feel of the P38, I'd rather have one of them instead of a brand new car lol.
