Its a british thing. Their planes, bombs, tanks, sausages, etc are all known as __insert noun , mkI/II/X etc

Classy though

In software dev, we've got a thing about rev 3. Rev 1 was rushed out the door too early. Rev 2 fixes the bugs in Rev 1. And Rev 3 is where you finally get it right, mostly.
