Default 00 D2 Cooling System Advice

Hi,
I would like to do maintenance on my coolong system. I need to replace the radiator, so I thought I would ask advice on what else I should do while I am at it. I read something about the thermostat and temp gauge. Any enhancements/advice appreciated.
Compression test tomorrow morning.

All original except brakes, tires, timing set, spark plugs, oil filter, air filter.
Magnacor plug wires.

I’d replace the radiator, hoses, 180F Thermostat, waterpump, check throttle body heater plate (or delete it), switch to 50/50 green coolant, coolant reservoir cap, and replace the fan clutch.

I just found a post about an in line tstat mod. I think I need a new recovery tank because mine keeps ruining the orings on the cap. I hate doing the fan clutch, the first time the wrench slipped and I broke the fan. I found a radiator on ebay new for just over $50 - ok, that seems too cheap.

I’ve got a 50.00 wonder radiator installed into a friends D2. It made it thru our hot/humid SETX summer without a single problem. It was identical looking to the OEM one I removed.
