I have a 03 discovery with 114K, i read where others have mentioned similar issues, but haven't seen any resolutions.
The car starts and runs well most of the time, however while driving i occasionary feel the engine cut out, but if driving it usually starts firing again. sometime m/s lights come on or check engine light comes on, it usually goes out after 1 or 2 restarts. If this happens at idle while stopped the engine usually won't restart for 10 min to severall hours. Can occur with engine cold.
Mechanic scanned, got codes for crank sensor, replaced twice, new battery and ign switch,.after replacing ign switch everything worked great for two weeks and now has returned.
any ideas

 

Make sure your crankshaft position sensor is a Bosch brand and make sure your battery connections are tight with no corrosion.
