03 RR whistle noise
Guys - I have a strange issue with my vehicle I was hoping someone could weigh in on.
For the last several weeks, I've been hearing a fairly loud, constant whistling noise which seems to be emanating from behind the glove box (near the cd changer) or in or around the battery compartment. It sounds similar to a tea kettle whistle.
The noise lasts anywhere from 10 to 20 seconds and stops abruptly.
It hasn't occurred when the car's been running for any long period of time but has happened
1. With the vehicle cold, no key in ignition (in my garage two days ago)
2. With the car cold upon opening a door
3. Shortly after driving the car a few miles
Any ideas? Anyone else experience this? Seems to be no other issues to report.
Thanks
Bob

If you pop your hood its on the left side. Its a box screwed down with allen screws. If you take the lid off (i wanna say its a 4 or 5mm allen) you will see a cooling fan down at the bottom. Replace that little guy and you will be all set
That's exactly what it was (is). Its getting littleworse - If I pop the hood and slap the lid of the compartment its in a few times it stops. I know it needs replaced.
Thanks again for the info - you were right on with the diagnosis.

I replaced this yesterday. LR Dealer wanted $210 plus tax. Atlantic British had the OEM part for $76. It took all of 10 minutes to do. Easy fix. Thanks again for the information!
