I have a 1996 Discovery and yesterday when I went to start it, it started, I could rev the engine to about 2500 rpm for about 5 secs then it would die. If I continue to try to start it, it feels like it is fuel starved and won't start. If I let it set for an hour or so, it will repeat the process.

Any ideas?

Do you have a check engine light on ?
The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) could be going out,, or it could just need cleaning.

 

I see you have a 96 also. It says you remappede the ECU RPi.
What does that mean?
