1996 Range 4.0 brake failure!!! HELP!!!
Today the brakes on my 96' Range completely failed...thank God I was close to home. I notice that the pedal goes all the way down as if its hitting something and I hear a clicking noise under the shifter when the brake is pressed. What could this be? I've already heard...master brake cylinder and brake booster. Has anyone else had this happen, and if so what was the fix? Thanks alot!
You need to have some one check the truck. How high is your brake fluid level, when was it last changed?
Normally when the pedal goes to the floor, the master cylinder has bypassed and failed.

You could have air in the lines and a full flush might help but most likely either the master cylinder has failed and or the brake accumulator. Should let an experienced Rover shop take a look at it, this is not a common brake system.
