1997 Discovery Transfer case shifting

Default 1997 Discovery Transfer case shifting

I jus bought a 97 Disco and I'm having touble shifting in to low range and diff lock. The shifter simply will not move. Any suggestions?

Check the linkage of the shifter. Check the owners manual for the exact process for your vehicle. The vehicle you purchased may not have been put into low range for a long time, if at all. That may require a mechanic. I hope it helps. gotta love a rover. duboff

you're going to have fun tearing up the center console. and drilling some rivets out. then lubing your linkage.

Thanks for the tips! I opened up the console and took a look and the linkage looks pretty rusted. I'm gonna give some lube a try. Wish me luck.
