i have a 1998 disco 4.0 has a code 1316, has a rough idle, has had recent valve job. when idling rough, does not have misfire. have used good gas. have replaced vehicle speed transducer. car is killing me. please help. thanks, marie sublett (has new plugs and wires) what should distributor advance be? help..........marie

 

P1316 shows to be (Excess Emissions Misfire Fault)
And a 1998 will not have a distrbutor.
If you have a distributor you have a 95 or older
motor.

 

dont give up! you are not the only one.

 

I have seen where moisture can get down in side the
coil pack I don't know how.
You can take the coil pack off and set it on a heater
for a few hours , don't melt it, and if it has any
moisture all gone.
