Default 1998 disco , no crank issue.

Hey guys , I'm having starter motor issues. I have pulled it out , tested it on the ground with jumper leads and shorted out the blade terminal with the positive and it pops out and spins. Then i touched the positive lead on the 2nd threaded bolt on the other side of the starter and its spins. I took the earth lead off the truck and cleaned it and the surfaces it touches when bolted on. I have tested the battery for voltage drop when the key is in the start position and its good voltage. When i reinstalled the starter it turned slowly for 1 second then stopped. Another turn of the key and nothing. No click nothing. Is there anything else i can test ? Appreciate some help. In the mean time researching.

UPDATE , i have tested the earth from battery to chassis with multi meter and the same with earth from starter to chassis. Also tested positive from battery to starter. Tested ignition wire to starter (11.5 volt) The starter is not even clicking. Strange how it works fine out of the truck. Only thing left is try another starter. I'm starting to think its something else. This is what lead me to believe it was the starter in the first place. The motor would turn over slow when it was warm but start fine when it is cold. The starter would click when warm so i gave it a couple of taps with the jack handle and it started a couple of times. The last time i did this , drove home and its been dead ever since. Bloody hell. Guess i need to try another starter. Any more ideas from you guys ?

13.5 volts = new battery
12.2 volts = half-dead battery
11.5 volts = bad cell inside battery

You could replace starter motors for eternity without getting her going on that old 11.5 volt battery!
