Default 1999 TD5 series 2

Hi my
td5 will not start, the problem started when on the motorway approaching a hill power just disappeared accelerator did nothing and engine stopped would not start.
Since this happened I have tried various things, replaced crankshaft sensor. Checked fuel pump and filter cleaned contacts on sensors. Replaced injector sealing o rings
And washers. It has started a few times but faded after a minute, when it does start black smoke comes out the exaust.
Any ideas?

Have you check the injector harness for oil at the ECU plug ?
You are better off on a UK/AUS forum as the US didnt get any diesel Landy's.

How long is a pice of string! ............... it's difficult to know what is wrong without seeing and testing the truck and engine. It may well be the fuel pressure regulator, the turbo actuator, the injector harness leaking oil into the ECU, in fact many things. The early TD5's had an issue with the oil pump bolt loosening and dropping out. I doubt if it is that though. Black smoke usually means incomplete or bad combustion of diesel fuel.

This may help your analysis.
