Default 2000 Disco II Won't Start

I have a 2000 Disco II that won't start. Just asingleclick and then nothing...
Noticed the other day that the brake lights were all out. It was running fine, just didn't want to get a ticket (or some yahoo up my butt).[sm=smiley3.gif] Husband replaced the brake light switch and then nothing. Cleaned the battery cables, tried activating/deativating with remote per instructions on this site, took battery in for testing and it's good. Lights and radio work, engine won't turn over, just a click. Any ideas???
Thanks!

Dead Battery!!!
Have you checked the voltage across the battery terminals?
Have you reset the inerita switch on the passenger fire wall?

is it in park? if so, try it in nuetral, i dont see how a bad brake switch would be the cause of this

try wiggling the ground wire and the pos battery cable. my 00 disco II did the same thing the other day after i swapped out the old battery. seems the cables were tight at the terminal but had worked themselves loose at the other end. a spray of WD-40 and a hit by a wire brush prolly wont hurt.

hope it helps!
