Just purchased a 2001 Discovery II SE (has 100K miles). (1) The "service engine soon" light is on" (how do I reset that to the "off" position) ?

(2) I also just discovered that I have no brake lights. Replaced fuse f2 under hood, it blows instantly. Also found that the brake light switch is missing. How many other circuits is this switch tied into other than the cruise circuit? And f2 circuit under hood---is that engine control items, i.e. e.g.r. etc. Wondering if the brake light switch was removed to hide an electrical nightmare. I purchased the "Rave" CD and am having a hard time figuring out how to use it easily. Looking for any ideas, help, etc. on these things.....much appreciated...thx...
