Angry 2002 Range Rover Bonnet Release Wire Detached

Hello,
The driver's side bonnet release wire on my 02 RR has become detached at the release mechanism under the bonnet, whereby pulling the wire has no effect and the bonnet cannot be opened.
Can the release mechanism be accessed from under the vehicle, and if so how is it accessed?
Thanks for any assistance offered.
Max

This is caused by failing to observe national hood cable lube day on a frequent basis. You may be able to access via the grille with a long thin screw driver or set of needlenose pliers. Also try looking straight up behind the bumper etc.
