Default 2003 Land Rover Discovery S Engine Overhaul

Just bought it with 98k. So, in the next few weeks I planned on doing most if not all know gaskets that are known to not hold up. Also, I planned on checking the front cover and replacing oil and water pump along with the timing chain and gears and front and rear crankshaft seals. Heads and valve gaskets a long with intake and bolts that come with the kit. I still debating if I should remove the engine out the bay to really clean up my engine. I have the digital rave manual.

The question I have is should I use gasket sealant on non- rubber gaskets?

black RTV on everything. "I" would look at ARP head stud kit instead of the factory STY bolts.

Thanks. One more question. Do I put Black RTV on rubber seals as well?

If you pull the motor you can do the rear main seal.

I thinking of pulling the engine for that exact reason to get to the rear seal. Is there a gasket or isolate between the engine and transmission?
