2003 LR Disco SE7 Xmsn shifter solenoid stays locked up.
I have to manually push in the little plunger in order to shift out of park. I have already tried the brake switch trick. The brake switch and brake lights function normally. However, the 15A fuse for the transfer box (fuse 21) keeps blowing. I replaced it yesterday and it worked initially, and then burnt out when I went to use the vehicle again. I'm thinking that either that solenoid is going bad or there is a surge of power somewhere causing the fuse to fail and therefore causing me to manually shift. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm thinking about checking out the XYZ switch and see if that has anything to do with it. I have one from my old transmission that I replaced last year. Its switch should still be good because the only reason I changed the tranny in the 1st place is because the front driveshaft sheered in two and busted a nice gaping hole in the side of the tranny. I read something somewhere that the XYZ switches sometimes go bad because of the AC condensor draining on to it?!?!?! I guess it's worth a shot. Again, I think there must be something grounding out internally (such as XYZ switch or something) that is causing the 15 Amp fuse to blow. I have the shifter cover off so I can push the solenoid's button in os I can shift out of park. It looks pretty unsightly, but you do what you gotta do until it gets fixed. Does Disco Mike have any thoughts on this problem?
